There is a 16-count tag (which we’re calling “B” since it’s done everytime on the back wall (except the first time back there) and then there’s a rocking chair tag added to the end of “B” the 2nd time. Thank you, Valerie, for bringing this to us!

I taught “Mad Crazy Love” by Gary O’Reilly. 32 Count, 4 Wall, Rolling 8 to the music “Mad Crazy Love” by Tenille Arts. I threw this at the class at the very end of the class period. Even with four tags, everyone did a really good job with this and we’ll look at it again on Friday.

New Teaches:

Falling Walls by Darren Bailey. 32 Count A; 8 Count B; Intermediate to the music “Walls” by Jamie N Commons (Skycraper Soundtrack). This was an absolute favorite coming out of the Florida Classic and we’ve been dancing it since then, but I hadn’t taught it to our group yet. Today was the day! (And everyone loved it as much as I do!)

When She Grows Up by Jose Miguel Belloque Vane and Roy Verdonk. 32 Count, 4 Wall Nightclub, easy intermediate to the music “When She Grows Up” by Craig Campbell. I really liked this dance from the Vegas Explosion and was eager to get to it in the teach rotation!

Make You Mine by Darren Bailey. 48 Count, 2 Wall, Low Intermediate to the music “Make You Mine” by Josie Dunne. Just a fun dance that most of the class had already had but, again, since I wasn’t teaching anything in December, it had to wait.

Rhythm Inside by Darren Bailey. 64 Count, 2 Wall, Intermediate to the music “Rhythm Inside” by Callum Scott. Darren struck gold at the Florida Classic and this was another of his hits. Again, a dance most of the class has already had, but it needed to be taught to our group as well.

Also Danced:
Sleepwalk With Me
Back In Town

I had asked some of the dancers for some selections of dances we should keep as we move into the new year. The results of that query include:

Fun “samba-y” dance with a 16 count tag done 4 times during the dance. Since I promised I wouldn’t teach anything else new until after the 1st of the year, I needed someone else to do the teach! New Teaches:

1) Bethlehem Child by Roy Verdonk, Sebastiaan Holtland, & Jose Miguel Belloque Vane. Music “Children, Go Where I Send Thee” by Kenny Rogers featuring Home Free. This is a 4-wall, 28-Count, Intermediate level dance. It has four different 4-count tags, which you progressively add after each rotation. There is 1 restart on the 4th wall after 16 counts. As long as you don’t let yourself get scared off by the phrasing, it’s really quite a fun dance!

2) My Rules by Amy Glass (Bailey). 96 count, phrased intermediate, pretty much 1-wall dance. Music “My Rules” by Jadagrace. Such a fun dance!

The class did really well with both teaches and we even danced My Rules again at the end of the class day.

And, some of us went to the social in Pinnellas on Sunday and learned a new dance by Fred Whitehouse, “Sleepwalk With Me”. But, as I wasn’t one of those who went on Sunday, it was my first time actually learning and teaching a new dance at the same time! That was interesting!

Friday, September 14, 2018:
Can anyone anyone say “oofdah”? Bet everyone who came to class today can!!!

The earlybirds started the day by going over Dem Dey Go. And, using the TV, we put the Roy & Fiona video up on the screen and went over it and over it and over it. And then over it again. We looked at hand movements, chest pops, shoulder pops, heel taps, knee pops, and anything else that caught our eye. We went over A, and B, and the tag, and then did it all again. By the time we were done, the entire class had arrived and were all a part of this. By the time we were done (well over an hour later!), we had a pretty good handle on it!

And then we moved in to the regular plan for the class session!!!

I skipped the actual warm-ups. We danced The Last Word as our warm-up and then I taught Julia Wetzel’s “Beyond Beautiful”. This is such a pretty dance! The class just loved it!

We went over Now or Never and Only Love and then I taught “Fully Clothed” by Scott Blevins and Betsy Courant. A little tougher (which very well could’ve been the time of day as well as amount of material already gone over) but definitely another hit!

We finished with Where I Stood. There was time on the clock... but no one left on the floor!

Have a great weekend!

I threw my game plan out the window today!

Since there were only the four of us, we worked on (introduced Marion to) “Only Love” by Bradley Mather. This was Brenda’s teach yesterday in Estero. It’s an awesome dance but really requires a lot of time and attention!

I think by the time we were done with it today, we were all in pretty good shape with it! I felt a lot better about my ability to dance it after today anyway!

The rest of the class time was spent reviewing the rest of the latest new ones: I Don’t Dance, Lie To Me, Make Way, Dirty Little Secret. Then we did Only Love two more times!

We ended early (we started early!!!) due to the holiday and the Club Naples Labor Day picnic being moved indoors. Plus we had people that wanted to get off the roads before the major rains moved in.

All in all - it was a great class!!!

We will have practice on Wednesday and class on Friday!

Just a heads up for future planning - the next two teaches on my radar are a classic “Now Or Never” by Kathy Hunyadi and a new one “Take Me On” by Michael Barr & Christopher Gonzalez.

See you soon!

Well. There was brain matter all over the place today! Is it any wonder? 4 (yes, FOUR!) dances were taught today. Actually, for some people, there wasn’t anything new; for another it was only two new ones; and for others is was all four. But, it had to be done.

1. Groovy Love by Fred Whitehouse, Daniel Trepat, and Jonas Dahlgren. 32 count, 4 wall, improver dance to the music “If Jesus Loves Me” by Saint Lanvain, featuring Rahmsed. No tags, no restarts. Cute little dance that has been rocking the line dance charts since its release.

2. The Last Word by Fiona Murray and Roy Hadisubroto. 48 count, 2 wall, higher intermediate waltz to the music “The Last Word” by Frances. There is one tag at the end of wall 5. This is a very powerful dance that the class has watched during practice over the last couple weeks and it was time to get everyone involved.

3. Festikiss by Jef Camps & Esmeralda v.d. Pol. 64 count, 2 wall high intermediate cha to the music “One Kiss” by Dua Lipa featuring Calvin Harris. The class really liked this one - even with it being as FAST as it is! A fun dance!

4. Where I Stood by Jason Takahashi. 48 count, 2 wall, high intermediate NC2 to the music “Where I Stood” by Missy Higgins. This dance won the advanced division of the choreography competition at the Marathon and was a dance that brought tears to my eyes the very first time I saw it. It’s been danced in other classes for awhile now and was time to bring it to everyone else. A great dance!

We also warmed up with a few dances - I Hate Love Songs, If You Ever, Vanotek Cha, Boots, My Heart Is In Havana, and Perfect. And tossed Blaze Of Glory in the middle of the four teaches to clear the brains and make room for the next teaches.

Busy, busy day!

I promised there would not be another new teach on Friday - and there probably won’t be any more before I leave on vacation. So for the next three classes, we will be working on mastering the ones we have learned so far.

There will, however, be a new teach at practice on Wednesday - Annie will be teaching Joey Warren’s newest dance, “Uphill Battle,” to those who are interested in learning it.

See you Friday!!!

Gypsy In The Night

New Teach:
Blaze Of Glory by Simon Ward, Niels Poulsen, Shane McKeever, & Fred Whitehouse. 32 count, 2 Wall Advanced NC2S. 1 tag done 6 times; 1 tag done once. Long intro (almost 40 seconds) before the dance starts. After hearing the music a few times, it got easier and easier to hear the tags. The timing for tag #2 will come with practice. The class was uncertain about the dance at the beginning and it really started to grow on them after a couple times through. Personally, I really like it - who could not love a dance to music by Bon Jovi???!

Reviewed “Grow” today (BIG review) and danced Tip Toe and Vanotek Cha.

That took up the entire class time!

See everyone Friday!

New Teaches:

Grow by Shane McKeever & Kerry Maus. Phrased (ABC) Intermediate, 2 Wall dance to the music “Grow” by Andy Grammar. A - 32, B - 32, C - 32. A was the easy part (16 counts, repeat). B - not so bad... start with hips, end with hips, put some funk in the middle. C - well, C took a little more work. Good thing we did this one first. It took us an hour to get through it and dance it a couple times. Peppy little bugger! But, all in all, the class liked it!

Tip Pon It by Shane McKeever, Steven Buhannic, Isabelle Delage, Coline Ragot, and Jonathan Yang. 64 Count, 2 Wall, High Intermediate Samba to the music “Tip On It” by Sean Paul featuring Major Lazer. We learned this one last night at Deb’s class so  needed to include it as a part of today’s schedule. This was voted the Advanced Dane Winner at Eurodance last weekend. Fun dance with really different music!

Friday, May 11, 2018

Today was our last class at the Vineyards until next fall!!!

And the last class with Geoff & Celia as they will be returning home soon. Excited for your return in October! Many thanks to Geoff for teaching us 4 (yes, FOUR!!!) dances over the past couple weeks:

Beautifully Broken by Tina Argyle, Kim Ray, & Pat Stott. A 48 Count, 2 Wall
Intermediate dance to the music “Beautifully Broken” by John Berry.

Capital Letters by Maggie Gallagher. 64 Count, 2 Wall intermediate to the music
“Capital Letters” by Hailee Steinfeld (from the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack).

I Came To Love You by Gary O’Reilly & Dee Musk. 64 Count, 2 Wall Intermediate to
the music “I Came To Love You” by Alexander Rybak. This was a special request
by me because Joe wanted a review of this before the Gary/Joey weekend! It’s a
   great dance - thanks, Joe!!!

Hearts On Fire by Maggie Gallagher. 64 Count, 2 Wall Intermediate to the music
“Hearts On Fire” by Gavin James.

All of these dances went over very well with the class and everyone seems to like them all!!!

I wasn’t going to teach anything today - but, of course, Deb taught a great dance last night in her class that I just couldn’t help but teach today! Another hit! And - luckily for Geoff - one he was looking at to be his first teach when he returned home!

Vanotek Cha by Gary O’Reilly. 64 Count, 2 Wall Intermediate cha cha to the music “Back To Me” by Vanotek featuring Eneli.

And, we had a review from Nancy of Come Home! Great review - so glad we were able to look at this again in preparation for the upcoming Gary/Joey weekend!

Since I knew today was going to be filled to the brim, I skipped the warm-up medley and went straight in to dancing. We opened with I Hate Love Songs and Thai Of My Life.

After a couple of reviews from Geoff, we danced Doing the Walk and then I reviewed Bring Me The Night.

Then we danced Follow My Footprints followed by Nancy’s review of Come Home.

We wrapped up the morning with To The Moon & Back.

Welcome to summer!!!!

Bring Me The Night by Rhoda Lai. 32 Count, 2 Wall, Intermediate/Advanced Rolling 8. Music “Bring Me The Night” by Sam Tsui featuring Kina Grannis. We took our time with this (an hour by the time we were done and had danced it!) but it was worth it. We worked out the tricky spots, talked about the arms, did the restarts and the 2-count tag (bridge). The class really seemed to like it!

Then we danced Thai Of My Life to clear our heads.

New Teach:
Geoff taught “Hearts On Fire” by Maggie Gallagher. 64 Count, 2 Wall Intermediate. Music “Hearts On Fire” by Gavin James. Fun dance -  the class enjoyed this one! (A piece of cake after the first teach!!!)

Friday, January 5, 2018
There were two ways class could’ve gone today. The “easy” way - just go over and dance all the dances from last fall through our last class in December; or the “hard” way - new teaches!

Guess what? I’ve never been one to do things the easy way! LOL!

So, we warmed up with Part-Time Girlfriend, Peculiar Game, Hurts Like A Cha Cha, Yeah!, and Love Remains.

Teach #1: My Heart Is In Havana by Bradley Mather (Sandy Albano’s grandson). Deb taught this last night and I really liked it - and just couldn’t wait to teach it! 96 count, 2 Wall, intermediate/advanced to the music “Havana” by Camila Cabello ft. Young Thug. Bradley won 1st place with this dance in the intermediate/advanced category at “not Tampa” (Florida Line Dance Classic) in Orlando at the end of November.

Then we danced Change My Ways and reviewed Oh Mama Hey.

Teach #2: Bloodstone by Neville Fitzgerald and Julie Harris.
32 Count, 4 Wall intermediate NC2 to the music “Bloodstone” by Guy Sebastian. 2 restarts - walls 3 & 7. I just LOVE this dance!

And, since the class was still standing.... I jumped right in and taught a 3rd one!

Teach #3: 85 by Rachael McEnaney-White and Kerry Maus. Phrased 80 count (AABBCCD) intermediate dance to the music “85” by Andy Grammar. This was a favorite coming out of the Rachael workshop we attended in December.

And with that - it was 12:00 and class was over! It couldn’t have been too awful - everyone was still talking to me at the end! LOL!

See what happens when I don’t get to dance for 2 weeks??? Plus - we had to keep dancing just to keep warm!!!

Monday, Deccember 18, 2017

But, it’s true. Today was our last class until Friday, January 5. The Vineyards is closed this upcoming Friday, the following Monday & Friday, and Monday, New Year’s Day.

No new teaches today. We warmed up with Blessed, Thinkin’ & Drivin’, Tick Tick Boom, NuFlow, and Ain’t Misbehavin’.

We reviewed Oh Mama Hey, My Reason, and I Was Wrong. Also did a review of Strip That Down and quick walks of Cry To Me and Feel.

The rest of the time was shortened versions (some by request, others just thrown out there) of: Bittersweet Memory, Girl Crush, Change My Ways, Hot Damn, Beautiful Wonderful, Serious Love, Throwback Love, To Be Human (we had to do it twice because it just wasn’t coming together the first time!), Everybody’s Groovin’, The Ghost Of You, All Katchi, If You Ever, Somebody Wants You, Time To Surrender, Italiano, Oops Baby, HOLY, Handclap, Take Me To The River, Shady, Crash, Keep It Groovin’, and Blue Ain’t Your Color.

For a “I’m not teaching anything new today” kind of day, we sure were busy!!!

The early-birds got a teach on Safe In These Arms.

Warm-Up Medley: Sign Of The Times, Handclap, Cry For Me (I forgot the ending!), Love Remains, and Summer Thing (which was a little tricky for everyone!).

Classics:  Several of us attended the Classics Workshop on Saturday in Deerfield Beach. We learned Feel (S. Blevins), Cry To Me (P. McAdam), SXE (Rob Fowler), and Do Your Thing (M. Perry et al.).

I taught Feel and Cry To Me to the class today. I’ll go over SXE and Do Your Thing next Monday.  And now that we’ve done these, they will be played a little more often to keep them in our heads!

We need to look ahead to the rest of the calendar year. We’re rapidly approaching the time of year when the Vineyards is closed a lot for the Holidays.

Here are the dates we WILL NOT be dancing (to be revised if I get approval from Club Naples to hold classes during these times):

FRIDAY, 11/10
FRIDAY, 11/24
FRIDAY, 12/1 (definitely NO CLASS as we’ll be in Orlando for the Florida Line Dance Classic)
FRIDAY, 12/22
MONDAY, 12/25
FRIDAY, 12/29
MONDAY, 1/1

The Vineyards also closes in observance of Martin Luther King Day and President’s Day - 1/15 & 2/19.

Other days we WILL NOT be dancing include Friday, February 16 (we’ll be in New Orleans for the Dance Xperience).

Our last class at the Vineyards is scheduled for Friday, May 11. We’ll return to Club Naples on Monday, May 14.

Because we’re only dancing one day next week, there will not be a new teach. We’ll use Monday as a practice and review day. The requested Early-Bird Teach will be Somebody Wants You! by Daniel Trepat, Niels Poulsen, Neville Fitzgerald & Julie Harris, and Roy Hadisubroto & Fionna Murray.

Monday, September 12

Great to be back at class!!! Admittedly, I struggled the entire time trying to remember dances... And ended up on the wrong wall on more than one occasion! LOL! By the time we were done, my EVERYTHING hurt! Three weeks is a longggg time to be away from dance!

Super big review on Fragile which Debbie taught last night.

Monday, August 8, 2016

Oh the joys of a new wall!!! Everyone did really well with a "new" front wall for all the dances.

We reviewed Boys & Girls, Handclap, Worldwide, A Lesson In Love, and Princess Cha.

We walked through Right About Now.

We worked on dances for Saturday's workshop & social: The Avener, Shake That, Desperado, Eternal Secret, Your Loving Arms, Lover Come Back, Your Place Or Mine, and Linger.

Wednesday's Practice and Friday's Class will all be focused on reviewing dances for Saturday.

Friday, August 5, 2016

Warm-up: Part of the List, Ain't No Way, and Woman Up.
Review: Worldwide, Handclap,  Young & Stupid, Sugar Honey I.T., A Lesson In Love, Part Of The List.
Walk-Throughs: Die A Happy Man, Girls Like, Desperado.

New Teach:  Boys & Girls by Rhoda Lai. A 64-count, 2 wall, high intermediate dance to the music "Boys & Girls" by will.i.am featuring     . There is a 4-count free-style tag at the ends of walls 1 and 3 and a restart during wall 5. There are some tricky timing parts to this dance but after dancing it the second time through, people were feeling pretty good about what they had learned!

We started to try and dance to the side walls since next Saturday's workshop will turn the room on its side - and struggled miserably. So next week's classes and practices will all be on the side wall (the new front wall)!

Monday, August 1, 2016

Welcome to August!!!

I wasn't sure as of Friday whether I was going to teach anything new today or not - and was encouraged to NOT... So, I didn't.  The class appeared relieved! LOL!

We spent quite a bit of time on A Lesson In Love, Handclap, Young & Stupid, Princess Cha, and Worldwide. Also looked at Shouldn't Be This Hard and Sugar Honey I.T.

We also danced Why Baby Why, H.O.L.Y., Pieces, Bittersweet Memory, Sunshine In My Pocket, Linger, and I Never Knew.

Friday, July 29, 2016

The good news about attending Debbie's class on Thursday night is getting to learn other new dances. The bad news? We want to go over them again right away Friday morning!!! LOL!

Debbie taught us Worldwide by Kayla Cosgrove last night. So - we reviewed it, went over it, practiced it, and danced it - twice! this morning. Can't even call it peppy! It's just downright FAST! But - we did it!!!

Spent some time reviewing A Lesson In Love (which Nancy taught us on Monday), Princess Cha, and Sugar Honey IT (which Nancy taught on Monday and I, unfortunately, did not do my homework on so it was a miserable review! My apologies to the class!!!).

Chris taught Handclap by Bracken Ellis and Brandon Zahorsky. This is a phrased (AB) dance with a 56-count part A and 32-count part B to the music Handclap by Fitz and The Tantrums. Thankfully it is only a one-wall dance! Peppy dance, tho. You dance the full A section twice, then two B's, 1/2 of A, a full A, two more B's, and then two 1/2's of A and then only the first 16 of A with a direction change to bring you to the front and be done. The class picked it up well and we danced it twice.

After that, we took a look at Why Baby Why, High On Loving You, and If You Are.

We did a bigger walk-through of Young And Stupid, and then dancedd From The Ground Up and Can't Feel My Face.

Whew! What a morning!

Monday, July 25

Nancy visited us today! She brought two dances for us to learn: A Lesson In Love and Sugar Honey I.T.

A Lesson In Love by Simon Ward & Dee Musk is a 48 count, 2 wall advanced nightclub two step to the music "All I Ask" by Adele. There are two restarts with this dance and they both require step changes and are done in different spots - one on wall 3, the other on wall 6. There are some tricky spots in this dance but we got through them and danced it a couple times.

Sugar Honey I.T. is by Johanna Barnes and is a 32-count, 4 wall intermediate dance that continues to fill the floor at the various events we've been to. The music is "Sugar.Honey.Ice.Tea" by Charlie Wilson. There is a restart after 16 counts on walls 2 and 4 (even though the sheet says 5).

The rest of today included reviews of Princess Cha, Why Baby Why, High On Loving You; quick reviews of Die a Happy Man and Dangerzone; and dances of Make You Move, More Dessert, The Waiting Game, Woman Up, More Dessert, and Pieces.

The early-morning practice session included Pieces, Sunshine In My Pocket, and I Never Knew.

Chris will be teaching Handclap on Friday - get ready for a peppy dance!

Friday, July 22

We did some reviews today of some dances that have been left off the radar recently:
Desperado, Linger, Die A Happy Man, Dangerzone, Girls Like, Shouldn't Be This Hard, and Way Down We Go.

We also reviewed some of the recent dances: Funk N Feel It, Shake That, and Sunshine In My Pocket.

At the end of class, we had time to just dance Pieces, Woman Up, and Corazon Diamante.

We did intensive reviews of Why Baby Why and High On Loving You.

The new teach for today was Princess Cha by Maddison Glover, Chris Watson, and Niels Poulsen. This is a 64-count, 2 wall, intermediate cha cha to the music "Miss You" by Nadiya featuring Enrique Iglesias. Make sure you get the 3:56 version by NADIYA not the 3:21 version by Enrique. What a difference a song can make!!! The class picked the dance up quickly and we were able to dance it a couple times before moving on.

Nancy will be coming on Monday and bringing A Lesson In Love by Dee Musk and Sugar Honey I.T. by Johanna Barnes (which fills the floor everywhere we go!)

Monday, July 18

Well! Miss Betty came to class today - first time in FOREVER! And Annie got to come today! And Carol got to come today! Yay!!!

New teach straight out of FITS: "Why Baby Why" by Maddison Glover to the music "Why Baby Why" by Mickey Guyton. A favorite from the weekend, this 72-count waltz is an intermediate level dance with two easy restarts. We did the teach and then danced it twice.

The other dance we took a look at this morning was Will Craig's "High On Loving You" to Florida Georgia Line's "H.O.L.Y."  This is a 48-count, 3-wall intermediate dance with 4 restarts. Some of the class had already had a teach on this, then Mary Sue and Janet took the class at FITS and liked it, so we went over it today and Carol and Betty got their first teach on it.

Other dances that we did this morning included:
Shake That
Woman Up
Pieces
Funk N Feel It
Sunshine In My Pocket
More Dessert
Right About Now

Our warm-up and finish-up cut dances included:
Warm-Up Dances:
All I Can Say
Sunshine In My Pocket
Just Have Faith
Ain't Misbehavin'
My Father's Son

Finish-Up Dances:
Shake That

Monday, July 11

Don't

Smaller Reviews/Walk-Thrus:

Just Have Faith

Running

End of Class Cut Versions:
The Avener
From The Ground Up
Jesse James
Half Past Nothin'

No class Friday - see everyone again next Monday!

Friday, July 8

Janet was back today! Nancy Dixon is here for a week! Vicki's back! We were at pretty much full-strength! Great to see everyone!

Tried something new today - same trick I used on my Thursday class. I've taken the dances we should all pretty much know (or will pretty much know shortly) and have cut the music to just 4 rotations (if I did it right!). I shuffle the playlist so we don't know what's next and let it play. Half the fun is trying to figure out what dance it is followed by how does it start? How does it go? Our little warm-up this morning was with Bittersweet Memory, All I Can Say, Sunshine In My Pocket, and Ain't Misbehavin'. I think it went pretty well!

No new teaches today - but for some, almost everything we did was new.

We worked on:
Shake That
Pieces
Woman Up
If You Are
More Dessert
Sunshine In My Pocket
Don't
Funk N Feel It

One more class and then we're off to FITS!

Friday, July 1

Can you believe it is now July??? Wow!

NO CLASS MONDAY!!! There will be no class on the 4th.
We will have class on Friday and then the following Monday (7/11) and then NO CLASS FRIDAY 7/15! (We will be gone to FITS.)

We reviewed last night's teach by Brenda, "Pieces" and danced it a couple times. And we reviewed Woman Up. We also reviewed Shouldn't Be This Hard and Sunshine In My Pocket. We walked through Part Of The List, Knockin' On Wood, and spent considerable time on Just Be (which is on the playlist for tomorrow night's social).

Since no one was brain-fried yet at that point, I taught a new one (which I was saving for next week! LOL! Couldn't wait!!!) "Shake That."  This is an A-B dance with some tags by Maddison Glover to the music "Shake That" by Samantha Jade featuring Pitbull.

Part A is 32 counts and always done twice. Part B is 16 counts and always done at least twice. Tag #1 is 16 counts. Tag #2 is just the second part of Tag #1. Tag #3 is simply a 4-count step to the side and raise your arms. The sequence is AA Tag #1 BB; AA Tag #1 BB; Tag #2 (just the second half of the first tag); AA Tag #3 (step to the side, raise arms); BBBB.  And they LOVED it! Yay! Such a fun dance!

Again, no class on Monday; reviews of all of these and then some on Friday along with a teach of "Don't" by Amy Glass.

Happy 4th!

Monday, June 27

Taught "Woman Up" by Rachael McEnaney-White and Amy Christian. 48-count, 4 wall, intermediate dance to "Woman Up" by Meghan Trainor. Very fun dance - easy 16 count tag at the end of wall 5 (repeat the last 16 counts). We danced this three times this morning!

Also reviewed Sunshine In My Pocket, More Dessert, Make You Move, Corazon Diamante, If You Are, Knockin' On Wood, and Suffer.

And just danced Night Train, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Your Place Or Mine, Linger, Girls Like, and Round Your Finger.

Wednesday's Practice and Friday's Class will include a review of "Woman Up" and then quick reviews of dances for the social:  Part Of The List, Out Like That, The Remix, Dear Future Husband, Have Fun Go Mad, Your Loving Arms, How I Want Ya, From The Ground Up, Desperado, Right About Now, and Silver Lining. And at least I will need to spend more than just a quick review of Just Be.

And make a note:  there will NOT BE CLASS on Monday, July 4 (the park has scheduled an early poolside party which means people will be using the hall in the morning...).

Practice Wednesday at 10
Class Friday at 9:30 (and you know I'm there earlier)
Social Saturday 6-???

NO CLASS MONDAY

Practice Wednesday 7/6

Class Friday 7/8

Friday, June 24, 2016

What started out as a review from last night's class with Debbie turned into a teach of More Dessert by Guyton Mundy and Klara Wallman. This is an A-B dance (32 count A, 32 count B) that has been filling floors at the events we've been to in recent past. Great dance!

We worked on Sunshine in My Pocket (danced it twice) and Shouldn't Be This Hard (twice), If You Are, How I Want Ya, Right About Now, I Never Knew, Dangerzone, Desperado, Die A Happy Man, Lover Come Back, Can't Feel My Face, Way Down We Go, Make You Move, and From The Ground Up, and Corazon Diamante.

Don't konw what Monday will bring - a lot will depend on what comes out of Rachael's workshop this weekend. And we still have to work on Amy Glass' "Don't."

Monday, June 20, 2016

Nancy came to class again today!

Two new teaches:

Sunshine In My Pocket by Amy Glass. An A-B-C dance by Amy Glass to the song "Can't Stop The Feeling" by Justin Timberlake.  A = 32 counts; B = 64; and C = 32. Plus a 4-count tag. Nancy taught this dance and the class picked it up really well. It's a fun dance.

Shouldn't Be This Hard was the bonus teach at the Dance Xperience Orlando in April and was taught again at the Marathon. This is a 48-count Intermediate dance by Neville Fitzgerald and Julie Harris to ths music "Love Shouldnt Be This Hard". Not a difficult dance and has only one restart on the very first wall. I taught this one.

We also reviewed:
Make You Move
Corazon Diamante
If You Are
Just Have Faith

And we danced:
Love Me Like You Do
Save The Day
Cake By The Ocean
I Never Knew
Desperado
The Waiting Game
Spiderweb
Right About Now
How I Want Ya
My Father's Son

Friday, June 17, 2016

Huge (HUGE-AH) day of dance today!!!

Big reviews of Make You Move, Corazon Diamante, and If You Are.
Reviews of Just Have Faith and Carry You Home.
Walk-thrus of Dangerzone, Die A Happy Man, I Never Knew, Desperado, Right About Now, Lover Come Back, Part Of The List, and From The Ground Up.
Just danced: Linger, Love Me Like You Do, and Girls Like
And still had time for requests:  Jesse James, Bittersweet Memory, How I Want Ya, Lay It Right, No Vacancy, and My Father's Son!

Whew!

Next teach:  Shouldn't Be This Hard by Neville Fitzgerald and Julie Harris. 48 count, 4 wall, easy intermediate dance with one restart. Music:  "Love Shouldn't Be this Hard" by Olly Murs.

Also need to start working on Bittersweet Memory for those who don't know it; and Don't.

Monday, June 13, 2016

So proud of this dance class! Not only did they learn Corazon Diamante this morning (Nancy teach) but they learned the first 64 counts of Make You Move and then wanted the rest of the dance! And we danced it! First pitched down a bit - then again at full speed! And they made it!!! They all did such a great job!

We had a big review of Just Have Faith, walk thrus of Linger and Right About Now, and quick reviews with just a couple walls danced of Love Me Like You Do, Die A Happy Man, and I Never Knew. And Chris reviewed Dangerzone.

Nancy taught "Corazon Diamante" by Roy Verdonk, Maggie Gallagher, and Gary O'Reilly. This is a 48-count, 2 wall intermediate dance with music "Duele El Corazon" by Enrique Iglesias (featuring Wisin). Great dance with a latin feel and 2 restarts. Danced it three times - class liked it. A lot!

And I taught "Make You Move" by Scott Blevins. A 144-count "phrased" high intermediate dance to the music "Get Up" (but you have to use the SB version - he cut it and trimmed it to make the dance work). I was only going to teach the first 64 counts (which are only done twice - once on the front wall and once on the back) but once we got through those, the class wanted to go on so we added counts 65-144 and finished the dance. Once the steps were learned, it was just a matter of sequence - which really isn't bad at all.  And we danced it all the way through pitched down some; and then all the way through at full speed. We made it! Yay!

And then we danced Spiderweb, just to clear our heads, and then headed out to lunch. Needed a treat today!

Friday, June 10, 2016

Busy day in class today! Heads were spinning by the end! My work here is done.  :-)

Big reviews of I Never Knew and Lover Come Back.
Little reviews of Love Me Like You Do (twice!), Dangerzone (Chris), Girls Like, and Die A Happy Man.
Walk-thrus of Linger, Desperado, Still Mine?, and Right About Now.

Two new teaches:

If You Are by Julia Wetzel. A 32-count, 4 wall intermediate dance with one restart and one easy tag to the music "If You Are" by Alyssa Reid.

Just Have Faith by Gary O'Reilly. A 32-count, 4 wall intermediate dance to the music "It's Alright, It's OK" by Shirley Caesar featuring Anthony Hamilton. There are no tags or restarts in this one.

Requests at the end of the class: Round Your Finger, Jesse James, and Coming Unplugged.

Monday - Nancy Delaney will be coming to class and teaching Corazon Diamante (new from the Marathon). And if anyone is interested, we're going out to lunch afterward so join us if you can!

Also on Monday, I'd like to teach the first 64 counts of Scott Blevins' new dance "Make You Move." This is a 144-count dance, but once you get through that first 64, the rest is easier and repetitive. It is a great dance and a lot of fun - a must learn for everyone!

Monday, June 6

Heavy sighs of relief when the class learned that there wouldn't be a new teach today from the Marathon. But there will be several over the next month - lots of good stuff came out of Raleigh.

Big Reviews for today: Love Me Like You Do, Dangerzone, Girls Like, Die A Happy Man, Lover Come Back.

Walk-Thru Reviews included Right About Now, Linger, and Desperado.

Other dances for the morning: My Father's Son, Extreme Love, and Spiderweb.

Monday, May 30

We had a lot of fun with Nancy Delaney today! Hit her with three of our new ones - she gave us one that she had "reviewed" taught at her Sunday class yesterday.  Seemed like a fair trade, right? LOL! Her head was spinning when she left.  ðŸ˜›

REMEMBER!!! NO CLASS FRIDAY! See everyone next Monday.

Early morning session worked on:
Linger
Desperado
Girls Like

During class we worked on:
Geoff's three dances - Carry You Home (the waltz), Seize The Moment, and Top Gear
Right About Now
Spiderweb (just danced)
Dangerzone (Chris)
Darling Hold My Hand (just danced)
Die A Happy Man

Nancy taught us:
Love Me Like You Do (Ria Vos)

Friday, May 27, 2016
Early morning practice included Lay It Right, Part Of The List, Talkin To The Moon, and Die A Happy Man.  Class included dances of Top Gear, Seize The Moment, Carry You Home, The Waiting Game, Linger, and Jesse James.  Big reviews of Right About Now and I Never Knew.

Two new teaches: Dangerzone and Girls Like.

Chris taught Dangerzone.  A 32 count, 4 wall, easy intermediate dance by Ria Vos to the music "All Night Long" by Rochelle. This is a peppy dance with great music. The class picked it up right away and we danced it twice.

I taught Girls Like - a 64 count, 4 wall intermediate dance by Neville Fitzgerald and Julie Harris to the music "Girls Like..." by Tiny Tempah featuring Zara Larsson.  Since half the class already knew this dance, it was time to bring the rest up to speed.

Monday, Nancy Delaney will be joining us and I don't expect to have any new teaches and there won't be any class on Friday. Lots of new stuff coming starting the following week from the Marathon!

Monday, May 23, 2016

Early morning practice included Girls Like, Desperado, and Linger.  Class included dances of Running, My Father's Son, The Waiting Game, and Lover Come Back.  The rest of the day was spent on two new teaches:  Right About Now and I Never Knew.

We learned "Right About Now" at FloriDance. This is a phrased (AB) dance by Will Craig to the music "Good To Be Alive" by Andy Grammar.  Part A of the dance is 32 counts and danced primarily on walls 12:00, 6:00, and 9:00 - however, it is danced once at 3:00.  Part B of the dance is 40 counts and primarily danced at 3:00 - however, it is danced once at 12:00.  Part A has one restart at count 16. The sequence is A B A A 1/2A B A A B A A.  We spent quite a bit of time walking through this dance and then danced it three times before we moved on. The class liked it!

The second teach of the day was "I Never Knew" - a 32 count, 4 wall, Intermediate NC2S by Simon Ward.  The music "What I Never Knew I Always Wanted" by Carrie Underwood.  There is one "tart" restart/tag on wall 1 and an easy tag at the end of wall six (two nightclub basics). We learned this dance yesterday at the Pinnellas Park social where Lindy Bowers taught it.  Again, once we got throught the teach, we danced it three times. Again - the class liked it.

I was going to teach "Girls Like" this morning - but 11:40am seemed a bit late in the class session to try and do a third teach. Will save that one for Friday.  And Chris is teaching Dangerzone by Ria Vos on Friday as well.  Plus any reviews needed before the social on Saturday! It will be another busy day!

Friday, May 20, 2016

No new teaches today - but lots of reviews.

We reviewed the three dances Geoff taught:  Top Gear, Seize The Moment, and Carry You Home. We also reviewed Spotlight, which Chris had taught. We went over the Waiting Game and Lover Come Back.

We spent quite a bit of time going over Die A Happy Man and Linger; and a fair amount of time on Desperado. Also reviewed Still Mine? - but that wasn't a big review at all.

We also just danced Extreme Love, Your Place Or Mine, Round Your Finger, and Save The Day. I had more on my list - but we ran out of time. There is just never enough time!

Next week - will probably teach a new one from FloriDance - either Will Craig's "Right About Now" or Amy Glass's "Sunshine In My Pocket". And will probably throw in Girls Like since we're doing it on Thursday nights and some of the class already knows it - and likes it.

Always amazes me that time can go by so quickly!  We danced Spiderweb, Ain't No Way, and Lately to warm up...  Reviewed the Waiting Game and Lover Come Back... I taught Die A Happy Man (Rachael McEnaney-White, 48 count, 2 wall intermediate dance to the music "Die A Happy Man" by Thomas Rhett).  This is a big dance - and we took a lot of time with it to try and get the count right. It's sections 2 and 3 that are the tricky parts - once through those, everything else comes pretty naturally. I think it's going to have to grow on some folks - but hopefully it will succeed as it's climbing the charts quickly.

Then we danced Talking To The Moon, Chris reviewed Spotlight, and then I taught Linger (Neville
Fitzgerald and Julie Harris, 32 count, 4 wall intermediate dance with two easy restarts).

We finished up with a review of Desperado and then ran out of time. Didn't have a chance to go over Geoff's dances, Still Mine?, or Jesse James... Maybe next time...

Friday, May 13, 2016

Chris' day to teach today.  She taught Spotlight and Jesse James - both requests by class members to be taught/reviewed.  Geoff reviewed Top Gear, Seize The Moment, and Carry You Home. I reviewed Desperado.  We also danced Making History, I Got It Easy, Uptown Funk, From The Ground Up, Ain't Misbehavin', Cake By The Ocean, My Father's Son, and Strip It Down.

Monday, May 9, 2016

Welcome to Summer!!!  Classes started at Club Naples this morning.  Geoff reviewed the three dances that he has taught over the past couple weeks:  Seize The Moment, Top Gear, and Carry You Home.  I reviewed the Waiting Game and Lover Come Back.

We also danced:  Beautiful In My Eyes, Part Of The List, Cliche Love Song, Riversoul, and The Avener.

I taught two new dances this morning (wanted to do 3 - ran out of time!):

Desperado by Neville Fitzgerald and Julie Harris
32 Count, 2 Wall Intermediate dance with one restart
Music "Desperado" by Rhianna

Still Mine? by Jessica Bostrom
32 Count, 2 Wall Easy Intermediate dance with no tags or restarts
Music "Unchained Melody" by Jonathan Jackson (Avery from the TV show Nashville) - Live at the Grand Ole Opry

The other dance I wanted to do was Linger by Neville & Julie - it will have to wait until next week. And then Die A Happy Man by Rachael is coming, too - as soon as I get the count figured out. Plus whatever comes out of FloriDance this weekend. No time to rest!

Monday, March 28
Last Monday, immediately following a Rachael workshop weekend in Orlando, I offered to teach "Part Of The List" to the class. Nancy took me up on the offer so I taught the 32-count "rolling eight" 2 wall advanced dance. It has an easy tag at the end of walls 1 & 3. The class seemed to pick it up fairly well and we danced it a few times.

There was no class on Friday (Good Friday) and I taught Nancy's class today while she continues to stay off her foot.

We opened with Ain't Misbehavin' and Cake By The Ocean and Making History. Then reviewed Part Of The List. Based on my early session with Kathy, I figured we were in need of a pretty intensive review. And we danced it a couple times after the review.

Moved on to some other dances that we could "just dance" like Save The Day, Your Place Or Mine, Talking To The Moon.

Then, I couldn't wait to teach "From The Ground Up" by Rachael and Rob Fowler (also from the workshop weekend). 96-count, 2 wall advanced waltz. I hadn't studied to teach this like I should've, but I think I did an okay job. At least the class got it and we danced it a few times.

Wrapped up with Ain't No Way, Cliche' Love Song, and Extreme Love.

Hoping Nancy's foot is okay for class on Friday!

Friday, November 27
Had a great class today!  I have no idea where the time went - but we certainly ran out of it!!!

We opened with Cliche' Love Song - as that was the dance the class thought most people knew.

Then we worked on Tuesday Blues.  And spent a good amount of time on it.  I think most people have a good grasp of it now (at least those who have had a teach on it before - those who saw it for the first time today - they may need more of it again!).

Then a quick review of Like A Phoenix.  I was only going to do a few walls of it - but got absorbed in the music and ended up dancing the whole thing.  :-)

Then we moved on to Dirty Work and spent a fair amount of time on it.  The funky tag seems to be the biggest hangup of this dance.  That, and the 3rd set of eight.  But, it's coming along.

Then a quick review and just a few walls of Mr. Put It Down.

After that, it was Extreme Love.  It's all in the timing.  Most are getting the first set of eight.  And even most of the second.  It's the end of the second set of eight where we weave to the left and do a 1/4 then 1/2 turn with the sweep/tap step that seems to be the hardest part.  Once we get through that, and remember to just do toe touches (don't step down), when we get to the rocking section - we're all good.  Then it's just a matter of timing to do cross twinkle weave lunge recover and turn into the start again.  But, after spending a good amount of time on it, I think people were feeling better about the dance.

I think by this time we were looking at it being 11:30 already or almost 11:30 so we took a look at all the dances that are on the playlist for the social and picked some of the ones with the most concern:  Lay It Right, Bittersweet Memory, Coming Unplugged, The Avener, Ain't No Angel, Alcazar, Darling Hold My Hand, and I Got It Easy.

We had a good number show up today!  Hopefully we'll be able to use the clubhouse again for a couple of Mondays in January that the Vineyards is closed.

Monday, October 19

Last "summer" class!

The "early birds" wo/rked on Mr. Put It Down.

The teach for the day was "Shots With Somebody" - 64 Count, 2 Wall, Intermediate dance by Rachael McEnancy-White.  Music is "No Doubt About It" from the Empire Cast.  We learned this dance at Rachael's workshop over the weekend and Nancy and I both liked it for the Monday/Friday class.

Rest of class-time was spent on: Cliche' Love Song, Dirty Work, Riversoul, Let It Be Me, Lay It Right, Like A Phoenix, Suffer, Can't Feel My Face, and Eternal Secret.

Friday, October 16
The "early birds" worked on Rolling In The Deep and Mr. Put It Down.

Class-time included reviews on Cliche' Love Song and Dirty Work as well as Pop 'N Drop.  Also reviewed/danced:  Girl Crush, Like A Phoenix, Turn The Beat Around, Never Been To Spain, Mr. Put It Down, and Ring My Bells.

Monday, October 12

No class today.

Monday, October 5
The "early birds" worked on Mr. Put It Down, I'm Ready, and Sugar Rush.

Class-time included Pop 'N Drop, Never Been To Spain, Shut Up And Dance, Riversoul, Can't Feel My Face, Let It Be Me, Turn The Beat Around, Slam Goes The Door, And Get It On, Body Goes Boom, Down To The River, WTF, and You'll Be Okay.

Requests included Eternal Secret, The Avener, and Mr. Put It Down.

Friday, October 9
The "early birds" worked on Mr. Put It Down, Let It Be Me, and Pop 'N Drop.

Class-time included Pop 'N Drop, Make It Rain, Suffer, Darling Hold My Hand, Earned It, and Alcazar.

Two teaches for the day:
#1  "Cliche' Love Song."  This is a 32-Count, 2-Wall, Intermediate level dance (with a 52-count tag and 3 restarts) choreographed by Team USA at the Windy City Linedance Mania event in Chicago last weekend.  Team USA consisted of Jo Thompson Syzmanski, John Robinson, and Guyton Mundy.  This dance won over Team International's waltz.  This is a fun and peppy dance.  The music is "Cliche'" by Basim.

#2 "Dirty Work" choreographed by Scott Blevins.  This is a 32-Count, 4-Wall, Intermediate line dance with two different tags.  The music is "Dirty Work" by Austin Mahone.  The teach on this dance came pretty late in the class and brains were pretty mushy.  It took a bit of practice to accomplish some of the trickier footwork but perseverance pays off!  It's one of my favorites of Scott's new ones.

Friday, October 2
Continued with a review of some of the "older" dances - took a look at I'm Ready, And Get It On, Hands Up, Body Goes Boom, Hard Work, All I Can Say, Earned It, Down To The River, Stonecold, Ain't No Angel, and Lay It Right.

Worked on Pop 'N Drop, Mr. Put It Down, Suffer, 4-5 Seconds, and Darling Hold My Hand.

Had time for one request:  The Avener.

Requests were made to put And Get It On, Body Goes Boom, and Down To The River back on the list for Monday.

Monday, September 28
Starting to work on some of the "older" dances to refresh ourselves with them and start thinking about Nancy's return and Tampa.  Reviewed Pop 'N Drop, Suffer, and Never Been To Spain.  Playlist for the day included The Avener, Mr. Put It Down, Let It Be Me, Eternal Secret, Dear Future Husband, Your Loving Arms, and Yes!

Requests included Can't Feel My Face, Like A Phoenix, Turn The Beat Around, Riversoul, Wakey Wakey, and Girl Crush.

Friday, September 25

Chris taught "Pop 'N Drop".  A 64-count, 2-Wall, Intermediate dance by Dee Musk and Ria Vos to the music "Emergency" by Icona-Pop.  No tags, no restarts and FAST!  Some timing issues which keep the dance interesting and a whole lotta fun!

Also danced Riversoul, Can't Feel My Face, Never Been To Spain, Suffer, and Darling Hold My Hand.  Reviewed Mr. Put It Down, Let It Be Me, Wakey Wakey, and Slam Goes The Door.

Eternal Secret and the Avener were requested for Monday.

Monday, September 21

No new teaches.  Class time was spent reviewing Mr. Put It Down, Let It Be Me, 4-5 Seconds, Shut Up And Dance, and Somewhere In My Car.  Also walked-thru Riversoul, Can't Feel My Face, Never Been To Spain, Suffer, Darling Hold My Hand.  And Rolling In The Deep and Turn The Beat Around were requested, so we reviewed and danced those as well.

Friday, September 19
"Pre-Class" worked on Lay It Right, Ain't Wot U Do, and Coming Unplugged - on the social wall.

Class time was spent on the social wall with Riversoul, Can't Feel My Face, Never Been To Spain, Suffer, Darling Hold My Hand, Lay It Right, Like A Phoenix, The Avener, Slam Goes The Door, No Vacancy, and Intrigue.

On the regular wall, big reviews of Mr. Put It Down and Let It Be Me which Nancy taught on Monday.

Monday, September 14
Fun class today with Nancy Delaney visiting us!  And then those of us who could, went out to lunch! And why aren't we doing lunch more often???  What fun!

"Pre-class" worked on more dances on the "social" wall - Ain't No Angel, Make It Rain, The Remix, The Avener.

Class time was spent reviewing Riversoul, Can't Feel My Face, Never Been To Spain, Dear Future Husband, Beautiful Goodbye, Suffer, Eternal Secret, Make It Rain, Darling Hold My Hand, Wakey Wakey.  Plus we just danced  Girl Crush and Twisted Sister.

Nancy taught Mr. Put It Down.  This is a 64-count, 2-wall High Intermediate/Advanced dance choreographed by Rachael McEnaney-White and Trevor Thorton.  There are no tags or restarts in this dance and it's fast!  The music is "Mr. Put It Down" by Ricky Martin featuring Pitbull.

And, at the end of class, we were looking for requests and a discussion surfaced about a new little waltz by Darren Bailey and Amy Glass called "Let It Be Me."  Before I knew it, Nancy was teaching it!  Very pretty waltz.  48 count, 4 wall Intermediate level dance.  Music is "Let It Be Me" by Ray LaMontagne.  Quick teach but easy enough to learn and very nice!

Friday, September 11
"Pre-class" worked on several dances on the "social" wall - Suffer, Like A Phoenix, WTF, Ain't No Angel, Ain't Wot U Do.

The class time was spent reviewing most of the new dances as well as starting to take a look at some of the dances for the upcoming social.  Dances included:  Riversoul, Can't Feel My Face, Never Been To Spain, 4-5 Seconds, Shut Up And Dance, Suffer, Eternal Secret, Darling Hold My Hand, Somewhere In My Car, Slam Goes The Door, Stonecold, Intrigue, The Remix, The Avener, No Vacancy, and Uptown Funk.

Monday's class will have Nancy Delaney visiting us and we're going out to lunch afterward for anyone who can join us!

Monday, September 7
Busy class day for a Monday holiday!  Raining out - so Marion was with us this morning; abd Carol came down from Fort Myers!  Happy Labor Day!

"Pre-class" worked on WTF, Coming Unplugged, Never Been To Spain.

Corrected the mis-guided steps in Never Been To Spain (much easier with just a 1/2 hitch!).

The new teach for the day:
Somewhere In My Car by Rachael McEnaney-White
64 Count, 2 Wall, Intermediate
1 Restart
Music:  Somewhere In My Car by Keith Urban

Other dances today included:
Won't You Stay
WTF
Ain't No Angel
Twisted Sister
Like A Phoenix
The Avener
Riversoul
Suffer
Darling Hold My Hand
Can't Feel My Face
4-5 Seconds
Shut Up And Dance

Friday, September 4
"Pre-class" worked on Suffer.  Many, many times.  And one round of Ain't No Angel.

The new teach for the day:  Never Been To Spain.  Of course, after class, I reviewed the stepsheet again and realized that I taught the 2nd set of 8 incorrectly!  It's a 1/2 hitch and full run-around rather than a full hitch and 1/2 run-around.  That'll have to be fixed on Monday.  Geez!

Never Been To Spain by Jo Thompson Szymanski
48 Count, 2 Wall, Intermediate/Advanced Dance
No tags or restarts
Music:  Never Been To Spain by The No Refund Band

Rest of the dances for the day included:
Won't You Stay (requested from last summer's class)
Girl Crush
The Avener
Eternal Secret
Riversoul
Suffer
Darling Hold My Hand
Can't Feel My Face

Monday, August 31
This "once-a-week" dancing has got to stop!  LOL!

The "pre-class" group focused on Lay It Right, The Avener, Stonecold, and You'll Be Okay.  Class time focused on intensive reviews of Suffer, Ain't No Angel, and Eternal Secret.  We started the class with "Beautiful In My Eyes" and also danced The Avener.

We also reviewed/walked through Riversoul, Stonecold, Can't Feel My Face, and Darling Hold My Hand.

Future teaches include Never Been To Spain by Jo Thompson Szymanski, Somewhere In My Car by Rachael McEnaney-White, and Mr. Put It Down - also by Rachael.

Monday, August 24
Welcome back Nancy Dixon and Betty Hagedorn!  Longgg time, no see!

We spent today's class working on Riversoul, Can't Feel My Face, and Darling Hold My Hand.  Since we had the two returnees and Chris hadn't seen these dances (or at least hadn't seen them in awhile), we took our time and really got them implanted in our brains.  We saved Suffer for Friday, along with Eternal Secret and Ain't No Angel.  We'll take our time and review/go over/reteach these dances on Friday.

Other dances we danced/reviewed today included:  Gentle, Eternal Secret, Ain't No Angel, No Vacancy, Like A Phoenix, Dear Future Husband, Sugar Rush, The Avener.

Friday, August 21
The majority of the class time was spent reviewing the four dances that Nancy had taught the week before:  Riversoul, Can't Feel My Face, Darling Hold My Hand, and Suffer.  Also reviewed/danced:  Girl Crush, The Avener, Make It Rain, Pontoon, Like A Phoenix, Slam Goes The Door.

Richard came to class today and brought a guest - Jean is a dancer in Virginia and visited our class today.  Hopefully she'll be able to visit us again!  Good to see Richard again and hope he returns to Florida soon!

Friday, August 14

I asked Nancy to come to class today to teach.  There were so many dances I wanted to learn that it ended up being like a mini-workshop!  She taught Riversoul, Suffer, Darling Hold My Hand, and Can't Feel My Face!  Great class!

We also reviewed (for the upcoming social): Hands Up, Sugar Rush, Islands In The Stream, Girl Crush, Like A Phoenix, Ain't No Angel, You'll Be Okay, and the Avener.

Many thanks to Chris for teaching throughout July and August!  I'll have to figure out the list of all the dances she taught and plug them in here!

  1. Thanks Nancy, Lesson in Love is a beautiful new dance and hard work but worth the effort! I'm so glad to have a teach in Sugar Honey IT, now I can dance it at the workshops.
