This dance has a “restart” on the 6th wall after 16 counts (no vine!) with the left and right toe fans as the tag; and the left and right toe fans as the tag are added again at the end of the 11th wall.

This was a pretty complicated dance with a lot of information and you all did a great job with it!!!

 Tonight was review night!

We reviewed why we’re here (to have FUN!), where to keep our head/eyes (UP! Helps keep your balance), and to keep our steps SMALL.

Since the class started, we’ve learned how to move to the right & left (the grapevine or vine); heel touches; marching; toe touches & toe struts; rocking chairs; pivot turns; K-Steps & V-Steps; and the Charleston.

The dances we’ve learned so far:
Cupid Shuffle, Touchy, Mamma Maria, K Is For Kicks, Rocket To The Sun, Pants On Fire, and Gloria.

Tonight, we took those dances and applied them to different music.

This was the 3rd class of our 12-week program. WOW!!! Even MORE new faces!!! So fun to see everyone on the floor!

We warmed up to the Cupid Shuffle and then reviewed last week’s dance, Mamma Maria.

We learned a new step - the “sugar foot”.  This is a toe-heel-stomp. And we danced, “What Makes You Country” by Rob Holley. This is a 32-Count, 4 Wall, Beginner level dance to the music “What Makes You Country” by Luke Bryan. We danced this slowed down as far as I could slow the music, then at 1/2 speed, then I started speeding it up and we danced it at full speed! Great job!!!

We finished the day with the Cupid Shuffle again, to the music “Come Alive”.

Everyone did really well and it sure sounded like a good time was had by all! Happy Valentine’s Day, have a great week, and I’ll see you again next Thursday!

Welcome to our newest dancers! We had Kathleen, Judy, Monica, Lisa, and Tom join us today!!! 

We took our first look at Rumba Boxes today. And learned “Little Darling!” by Rosie Multari. This is a 32-Count, 4 Wall, Absolute Beginner dance to the music “Little Darling” by The Diamonds.

We also reviewed K-Steps, Grapevines, and Rocking Chairs. We danced The Cupid Shuffle, 1-2-3 EZ For Me, and Pants On Fire.

We may not have totally learned the Rumba Box but we sure a had a good time trying!

We had an awesome first class of the beginners! Seven dancers came and started the fun and exciting process of learning to line dance! We learned the basic steps of moving to the right and left; heel taps; marching; toe points and touches; pivot turns; mambo steps; and rocking chairs. 

And learned the Cupid Shuffle and 1-2-3 EZ!
